Vanessa Hazzard digital collage self-portrait

I learned that even the mundane can become magical when seen in a different context.

My work has been displayed at The Colored Girls Museum, Harvard University’s Countway Library, DaVinci Art Alliance, Slought, Dreams and the Unconscious Mind Art Show

I am a self-taught, interdisciplinary artist from Philadelphia, PA. Most of my functional and abstract art combines found objects, crystals, bullet casings, and other materials that call to me to be repurposed in meaningful ways. Growing up in a working-class home, I began making art with whatever materials I could find in my environment. That experience reshaped how I interacted with the world.
